[[Image(htdocs:specim_leica.jpg, 360px, align=right, nolink)]] = Sensors Operated by ARSF = The page gives a list of past and present sensors operated by ARSF. Click on the name below to get more information about a specific sensor. The sensors are mounted on the cabin floor over an opening that can be opened/closed during flight. The image below shows the aircraft in flight with the hatch open. == Current Sensors == ARSF currently operate both Specim AISA [wiki:Sensors/Eagle Eagle] and [wiki:Sensors/Hawk Hawk] sensors, a [wiki:Sensors/LeicaLIDAR Leica ALS50-II LiDAR] and a Leica RCD105 39 mega-pixel camera. There is also a downwelling light capture device operated called the [wiki:Sensors/Fodis FODIS]. For comparison on ATM, CASI, Eagle and Hawk sensor swath widths see this [http://arsf-dan.nerc.ac.uk/trac/attachment/wiki/Sensors/all_sensors-cropped.jpg figure]. == Navigation System == [[Image(htdocs:dcalm_bay3.png, align=right, nolink, title="ARSF Aircraft in flight showing Instrument Bay")]] The navigation data that is used in the georeferencing of the various sensor data is collected from either an Applanix system (for pre-2011 data collections) or an IPAS system (for 2011 data onwards). See the ARSF operations [http://arsf.nerc.ac.uk/instruments/navigation.asp navigation systems] page for more information. == Additional Instruments Available == * [http://arsf.nerc.ac.uk/instruments/grimm.asp Grimm] * [http://arsf.nerc.ac.uk/instruments/aimms.asp Aimms] == Historical Instruments == * [wiki:Sensors/ATM ATM] * [wiki:Sensors/CASI CASI] * [http://arsf.nerc.ac.uk/instruments/rc-10.asp RC10] (analogue large format camera) * Rollei (digital camera only operated in 2007) * TABI (only operated in 2010 on loan from Technical University Athens)
