NERC-ARF Workshop
The annual NERC Airborne Research Facility (NERC-ARF) training workshop will be held on 13th – 14th March 2017 at British Antarctic Survey (BAS), Cambridge. The workshop will give an overview of the sensors operated by NERC-ARF and provide hands-on training in processing of hyperspectral and LiDAR data.
The workshop is aimed at all users of NERC-ARF data and will cover:
- Basics of remote sensing
- Introduction to NERC-ARF and the sensors operated.
- Calibration facilities used by NERC-ARF at BAS
- Introduction to the Field Spectroscopy Facility (FSF) and the role of field spectroscopy in atmospheric correction.
- Processing of hyperspectral data using the Airborne Processing Library (APL).
- Atmospheric correction of airborne data.
- Processing LiDAR data using open source tools.
- Tools and techniques for further data analysis.
Registration is free for users of NERC-ARF data. For more details on BAS Cambridge, including travel direction see: https://www.bas.ac.uk/about/contact-bas/travel-to-bas-cambridge/. If you can’t make it to Cambridge the workshop will be live streamed, allowing remote participation.
