#391 fixed EUFAR11/03, flight day 095/2011, HYMEDECOS (erosion) emca knpa
Description

Data location: ~arsf/arsf_data/2011/flight_data/spain_portugal/EUFAR11_03-2011_095_HYMEDECOS_Erosion/

Data arrived from ARSF via network transfer on 19/04/11.

Scientific objective: (1) to derive spatial information on vegetation, soil and terrain for hydrological model input by combined hyperspectral and LiDAR data (2) to conduct a spectral fingerprinting approach allowing to trace back sources and pathways of sediments. Airborne data acquisition will be accompanied by an extensive field campaign

Priority: a4h

#409 fixed EUFAR11/02, flight day 187/2011, Svalbard knpa anch
Description

Data location: /users/rsg/arsf/arsf_data/2011/flight_data/svalbard/EUFAR11_02-2011_187_SVALBD_PGLACIAL

Data arrived from ARSF via network transfer on 13/07/2011

EUFAR11/02 Scientific objective: Paraglacial slope adjustment is rapid and poorly understood. It takes the form of rockfalls, debris flows and gullying – all of which involve the erosion and deposition of significant quantities of sediment. The global trend of glacial retreat means these processes are becoming much more widespread. Better understanding of the processes that bring about post-glacial slope adjustment leads to better understanding of (1) Potential hazards in downstream habitation (2) The global sediment budget (3) The formation of relict glacial landscapes.
