Data arrived from NERC-ARF via hard driver on 12/09/2018

Scientific objective: Canadian Wildfire Observations with SLSTR & Aircraft: Directional Effects of Thermally Emitted Radiation & Exploration of Flaming/Smouldering Partitioning and Plume Trace Gas Emission Ratios. Fenix and Owl data are being processed to aid geocorrection of other thermal sensors flown on the aircraft.

  • Missing navigation synchronisation data
  • Framerate not recorded correctly
  • Missing log files for Fenix
  • Navigation data (.sol format) and level1b (unmapped) data to be delivered first. The level1b data will be used to determine which lines map.

  • Owl (requested, flown)

Generating Level1b files.

Extra checks

-Nav can't be used as stated above
-There are 11 owl lines and 10 fenix.
-All f98 files are empty
-6 different owl files have dropped frames
-Large differences on fps from fps_qpf in fenix line 18.
-Owl line 1 does not include the darkframes (separate file) and needs to be stitiched

Symlinked missing T2 lines with the closest ones and also T1 for line 3. Stitched line 1 and creating the level 1b files.

Navigation Processing
Basestation and IPAS20 data are the same as flight 2018 223a (see ticket #648).
RINEX, GPB, PPP and SOL data has been copied from 223a into 223b.

Fenix hdr line 1 has the value for GPS Start time and GPS Stop time. Will edit the Stop time with the creation date.

Lines 1 & 2 are too short for further processing. Number of lines in header files are 1401 & 428, respectively.
Finding SCT values of remaining flightlines.

Using level1b previously delivered.
Lines 1, 4 & 6 are too short to be processed and further. Number of lines: 621, 609, 1084.
Finding SCT values of remaining flightlines.

  • check_apl_cmd ran through OK, had to use modified version with bands 153 94 53
  • SCT values all look OK.
  • Edges are very visible in mosaic, OK for this application though.
  • Started zipping mapped files

Ready to deliver but hold off so can be delivered with Owl.

Files were zipped successfully. Delivery has been placed on FTP slot 1 and notification e-mail has been sent to PI. Delivery finalised.
